Default What chip for 95GT?

Hey all, whats going on? I recently bought a crotch rocket, so I haven't had money to finish putting ported stock heads/cam/roller rockers in my Stang yet. Ane one know what chip I should get? I have the CAI and h-pipe already, of course. Have gaskets, new pushrods and lifters too, just need the cam and new valve springs, and chip. Gonna tackle this by myself, too, so if any one has some pointers, I would appriciate it. TIA.

After you've installed all your goodies, take it to a dyno shop where they can burn you a custom chip for YOUR car.
If it's a good dyno shop, they'll sell you a reflashable chip so if you do further mods, you can have it reflashed instead of buying another one.

I've been to a dyno shop, and they were working with this Cobra that had a supercharger put on. In the end, he had other problems, but to see the dyno guys really trying hard to get it to work impressed the heck out of me. I would NEVER buy a chip thru mail order. They have no idea what YOUR car's needs are. Only a dyno shop that's has made some pulls on your car can tell you what the car needs.

I was afraid of that. The only reputable speed shop around here is spendy. But people swear by them. I guess, if when I put it's all together and it runs, I could take it down to Jim Greens Performance Center. The 95 GT is notorious for not taking mods well, at least not taking advantage of them, you think it will run when it's all together without a chip?

Like how much? The local dyno shop here is around $375 for the reflashable chip and 3 pulls on the dyno to tune the car in. Not bad considering just the chip alone at some places are $300, and then they're not tuned to your particular car.

I don't know what you'll get for times, but with your mods, you should do better than my 14.519 on street tires.

I dont know their rates, but they wanted 5k for a rebuild on a 3.8 SuperCoupe engine I had in my Cougar. Some of the older guys with hotrads say they're the best, but you pay for it.
