yep, get rid of the cats AND the SSI for now and I bet your car will scream. Unless you decide to spary it then I would leave the SSI on but you run out of bottle so it needs to come off.

I bet if you got a typhoon intake and ported it your car would have more HP. Just my 2 cents.

So if I put some boost on this SSI intake ...... even just a 6psi Novi 1000, I will get my low end
throttle response back?

Yeah I was thinking of bumping the base timing some more myself
set at 14* now, think it could go higher.

Computer was all set properly with custom chip, even kept same 19lbs MAF

Yes, If you put some boost into it your car would be totally different.

I do not recall ever saything that the exhaust would give you what you need. I said it would help. The intake is worng for your application. Spray it or boost it and you will see.

Thats what im running, its a stock upper Typhoon thats just gasket matched and the i cleaned the inside of the TB entrance up all the way into the plenum. Then i completely ported the lower. Im thinking of extrude honing the upper. But i dunno if its even worth the effort, i mean its just a 306. But it makes great power now, before the upper end was a little soggy, now it pulls strong to the rev limiter.

Id sell the SSI and get a good Track heat or Edelbrock RPM II, heard nothin but good about the RPM II.

Call BBK tomorrow and speak to Brian Rogers about the SSI and your set up. After to you speak to him report back and see if grabben is right. You never know I might not of had my hearing aid on right when I spoke to him about what the intake was DESIGNED for.

they did a test awhile back it's on par with my rpm....

i'd ask afr themselves...the heads, and cam are just as critical as an intake/exhaust.

I dunno....the SSI just seems to be more show than go to me. I mean if it was a weekend cruiser...not a high hp engine...i would run it. But it just kinda looks heavy and i dunno...just seems to pretty to do to much.

MM&FF's tests on the SSI show that it's close to the GT40...a little less hp, but more tq. Your stock cam and exhaust are hurting you. I bet you see pretty spectacular gains w/ a Jay Allen cam and decent exhaust.
