Default Voltage Problem

I have UD pulleys and the volts are just not cooperating lately, actually killed the battery completely the other night.

If i put the stock alt. pulley back on but keep the crank and water pump UD's, will the 89.5 belt (i have smog delete) still fit? Or is the stock alt. pulley that much smaller?

Thanks for any help.

I'm no expert on the underdrive, but I'm sure if just the alt pulley was put back to stock diameter that there would be enough swing on the tensioner to allow that belt to be installed.

i agree with 86hogt, the belt tensioner should be able to make up for the slightly smaller pulley

check the ground from your motor to your frame it may have come off or broke. My battery died about a week ago, I thought the same thing but it turned out to be my ground wire. Thats if your possitive its not the battery. Hope this helps

No it is definately the battery. Changed it the other day to a Autocraft Titanium and the car works fine now. The pulley slowly drained it by now recharging it.

I figure, since the new battery has a 3 year warranty, I'll just let it drain again and get another one.

But I definately don't think the belt will still work, seeing as the old pulley will almost fit inside of the new one...big difference in size..

Maybe BBK's just suck. []

then the smart thing would be to upgrade your alt. to a 190 amp or so
