Default Lets form a Speed Density Questions group/ sticky

Good morning everyone.

I would like to unite the owners of Speed Density Mustangs and form a technical forum or sticky thread.

I've ran into a few very smart SD mustangers, and I'd like to pool our information and write a tech article talking about SD and how to use it in a modified engine (5.0, 2.3 whatever)

Speed Density Fuel injection is a different type of fuel injection used on 86-88 mustangs and ford trucks and perhaps other ford passenger cars.

here is also a repost of something I placed on the feedback part of the forum

Dear Admin.

Could you please make a sticky for Speed Denity 5.0L Fuel injection cars?

Many people find out later that they have Speed Density cars and have questions, because it is different than MAF cars. Not many mustangers know about speed density, and how to work with it. A MAF conversion is not always necessary.

Attached is a thread that has a great piece of information on it. Perhaps you can edit it and repost as a sticky.

okay, so lets get to work. Please reply here with a write up about Speed density and anything you know:

Please Quote and correct as necessary. You can also email stuff to me and I will place it in a write-up.

I'll start:

There exists a unique cam in Early 1987 Speed Density 5.0L Mustangs. It is different than the cam used later in 87 and perhaps 88, 89.

This cam has a faster ramp rate than the later ones, but does not offer any large performace improvements
