I need to replace my seats in my 1986 mustang hatchback. i have found a set of rear seats and the front seatbelts from a 1990 and a 1988 that might be worth using. will these fit without modifications?

my guess is yes, cause they didn't really change the structure of the stang from 1986 to 1990

the rear seats are mounted differently... but thers nothing you cant do w/ a welder and a lil know how!

that is what i thought. i'll have to buy new upolostery (91 black tweed) and put them on my 86 rear seats. i already got my new seats for the front out of a 91 for the front. will 91 upolstery fit my 86 foam? I'm thinking it will just want to confirm it.

does anyone know about if the retractable front seat belts fit 90's work in an 86

The rear seats in a 90 or 91 and up had a shoulder belt where as the older ones do not...

So that means that the rear quarter interioir panels are different along with the nut not being welded to the but where the seat belt bolt needs to go.

ONe thing you can do is get teh upholstery and take the rear seta to a shop and tell them you need new foam to make the fabric fit.

plus the rear interrior quarter panels need to be trimmed to fit the quarter windows....
