Default going on my 3rd set of valve cover gaskets??

when i first bought it,it leaked. new motor stock covers cork gaskets...... leaked. bought those felpro gaskets with the metal inserts in them now they are seeping when i hammer it. they leak on the back corners and drip on my L/T's and the inside of my car looks like someone left there ciggeret on my floor board. these valve covers were somebody else's. his were already modified with the baffling removed for rocker clearence. are they distorted? i thought about buying DOWN'S FORD breather system to see if that cures my problem. or do i have something else going on that i don't know about. it only does this when i put my foot in it.

could be your PCV system ain't working right allowing too much blow-by gases to build up in the crankcase and the excess pressure is pushing the gaskets out of the valve covers. it could also be worn rings letting too much blow-by get into the crankcase also.

I'd lean towards the pcv system, the breather should fix that problem

What he's saying can happen without burning oil. You gasket leak problem is most likely from high crank-case pressure. A pcv valve (stands for positive crankcase ventilation) is a one way check valve to let pressure out of the crank-case. Every time a piston moves up and down it creates pressure from displacing space. Abnormal pressures (which can cause gasket leaks) can occur when (mainly) the pcv system fails (clogged up, not being used, etc.) or cylinder pressure leaks past the rings and into the crank-case. The rings could be wore enough to allow the high pressures of the cylinder explosions to leak past the rings, but not bad enough to leak the other way. Also not aligning the rings properly when installed (as in the ring gaps are not spaced properly) can cause this too.

But really though, you just need to remove the PCV system and install a breather'd filter in your valve cover, or hook that hose back up between your pcv valve and throttle body.

i'll put the hose back on,i do have a breather on it one with a screw in cap then the filter is pushed in on top of that.the only thing that bugs me is a local dyno shop pulled that valve cover off to check if i put the rockers on right duh??? they were bolt on.i don't know i'll figure it out i always do.
