Default No power over 3000 RPM??

Hi

Here comes a question from a frustrated swede.

I have a Mustang -94 GT 5.0 with a strange problem.
It starts up and runs smooth on idle and below 2500 RPM's. but...

As soon as i push it towards 3000 RPM's and above it becomes lame!
No power at all, it take's about 20 sec to rev it up to 5000 RPM's on 2'nd gear with full throttle!!

Also the check engine comes on now and then (have not been able to read out the codes).

Any suggestions??

You should make sure that your spout connector is in. It sounds like your timing isn't advancing. Have you or anyone tried bumping the timing?

The spout connector is in the wiring that is going to the distributor. It will be hanging somewhere near the wiring harness that's plugged into the distributor. It is just a small plastic grey jumper so to speak. You have to remove that to set your timing. Once you set the timing put it back in. If it's gone your timing won't advance.
