broke the check valve, any ideas?
I broke the smog pump, in-line check valve. now, that is going to be a real pain in the *** soon, because I hear that it will clog my catalytic converters soon if I don't get that smog pump hooked back up. since I don't have the money right now to get an off-road H or X pipe, I guess I have to do something. Anyone have any ideas? Oh, did I mention that half of the check valve is actually stuck to the exhaust rail that runs along the back of the block? It's rusted so bad that PB blaster won't even penetrate it enough to let me loosen the threads to take it off. Any advice on either of these issues would help. Thanks in advance guys.....

Okay, well, I still need to get this exhaust thing figured out. I mean, are you saying just block off the "rusty rail" that runs around to the back of the engine? And block the inlet tube to the H pipe near the cats? And if so, what else needs to be taken care of?

mines broken too
i just left it as is and got my car inspected today passed emissions with flying colors
it wasnt even near the limits i was very happy
some guy at napa tried to sell me the new part and told me engine would run crappy without it and it wouldnt pass smog
shows how much he knows
