5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang Technical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.

Got some questions.

Default Got some questions.

I have a 1995 GT with 105k miles on it. Every once in awhile (about once a week at the worst) the car will stall and turn off out of no where. When I start it back up it wont let me accelerate above about 2500 rpms. Then it goes away and drive fine. I smell a little gas on the passenger side of my engine. Could it be related? And what gears should i go with. I got stock 3.08 i think. They suck. I want some thing street able. Im looking on getting into some autocross or open track days at some local tracks. Its stock T5 by the way. Does anyone know if the FRPP exhaust are any good. Thanks alot
Chris

Not sure about the car cutting out. Go with 3.73's with the T5, very streetable yet a noticable increase in performance. Don't get FRPP exhaust, look at flowmaster, magnaflow or SLP for good catback systems for your mustang.

I had some flows in my fox before i got the sn95. I was thinking about 3.27 or 3.55. How much better are the 3.73's and how is my gas milage going to be effected? I like in Chicago so lots of the time is spent in traffic.
