sqeaking and rattle by air pump?
I get in my car today and i start it and i hear like this rattle and sqeaking noise. i get out and i prop the hood and the sound sounds like it coming from what i guess is the air pump which is below the alternator and i know its not the serpintine belt b/c i guess replaced to like 5 days ago. But the pump kinda looks likes it shaking and rattling not violently or anything but definetly enough for me to hear and see it. I did do some work on my water pump awhile ago so i was done around there. But i

RE: sqeaking and rattle by air pump?
take a long screw driver and put the metal tip on the air pump and put your ear on the handle and listen for like a grinding or what every it could be. you will def notice a sound and if it is making noise just put a delete pulley in or just skip it completely

try rotating the pump by hand with belt off. if it is hard to turn, its probably shot. just remove it, and run a short belt. i did it, and have had no problems at all with it.

do the blue belt config, and remember, it is a NEW configuration, i made the mistake of buying an 84.5 belt, and putting it on the stock way.

Correct, you need it.
Mine was doing same thing, replaced it, good as new.
They're a breeze to swap out and dont cost much, just replace it.
they dont last very long. I'm on my 3rd in 10years
