vacuum leak, oil burning, and air fuel ratio help!!!
alright guys, ive got a few problems with my car that i just cant seem to fix. Ill start with the vacuum leak, me and my brothers tested it this weekend, and we hooked up the air compressor to the intake. We listened for leaking air and didnt hear a thing. Then we tried the carb cleaner trick, and that didnt do a thing. Im 90% sure its a vacuum leak because there is a high pitch noise comming from underneath the upper intake manifold BUT my car does not idle high it stays around 600-800. Next problem is after im running my car hard for about 20 to 30 minutes (road racing) my car will burn off about a quart of oil, but it doesnt burn oil just normally driving. Also there is a greyish/white smoke that comes from the exhuast under heavy acceleration (i thought it was a leaky head gasket but i dunt loose ANY coolant and i did a compression test and i got about 120 i believe). When my car was dyno's water was spraying out of the tail pipes. I also have no cats on the exhaust and most of the smog and emission stuff has been removed. And my air fuel ratio is ALL over the place.
Also there is a LOT of black crud in the upper intake manifold.
Heres a list of a few MODS ive got (91 5.0)
Edelbrock performer heads
C&L MAF (possibly NOT calibrated for 24lbs enjectors)
24 lbs injectors
E cam
Cobra upper/lower intake manifold
If uve read this far THANKS!!! hah any tips would be helpful thanks c ya

RE: vacuum leak, oil burning, and air fuel ratio help!!!
The valveguides are worn on your heads. That's what the high pitch noise is. The noise is air seeping into the combustion chambers. It's also why your motor uses so much oil.
Your rocker geometry is likely the culprit but isn't the only thing that will wear out valve guides. If your rockers don't sweep a pattern in the middle of the valve tip, it's puts a lot of side load on the valve guide, and will accelerate wear. I need to have my heads worked too so don't feel bad.
