I just got stock 87-93 11inch brakes with all the spindles and stuff for my 1979 pace car. I got them so hopefully I can upgrade to 5 lug one day but my question is if I need to get the struts for a 87-93 or if I can use the 79-86 struts? I am not sure whats different about the two struts but generally they have diff part numbers i believe. Im guessing if they are different, its probably where they bolt to the spindles. Hopefully someone knows. Thank you
You need 1987 & up struts. The part of the spindal that mounts to the strut is wider on an 1987 then a '79. So the spindal is different, it will not work.
I've converted my 1983 to '87 and up brakes and had to get new struts. If you don't want to spend alot of money just get KYB's, cost you less then $100 for both.
