if he gets the intake, heads and cam the hp increse will be to much for his exhaust set up. he should do the exhaust first and gets it big enough than the pwer from the heads, intake an cam will benefit. its worthless to get those mods on your car without an descent exhaust.

Wow...interesting reading. Much better than the Classic Forum. Can I ask what the budget is and what the goal is? It's OK to make suggestions, but if you recommend a set of $1400.00 heads to a guy that has a $1000.00 in his pocket, it's pretty much a mute point.
Souron..what is your budget and what is your goal and over how much time?

BTW..a 9.30 on drag radials..can you share some pictures? It was hard to tell who posted that. I am always interested in the buildup, so can you share?

Ron

wow! i havent looked at this pst in ages [sm=smiley17.gif] well anywayz, the block that i had that i was putting in probly wont be going in right away since i need some stuff for it(pulleys, brackets, engine mounts cross-member) the tranny i have needs a re-build, and such things, so i think i'm just gonna pick up a cheap doner car, i have my eye on an '85 GT so it s the same as my car its supposedly got an 5.0L HO in it with ported heads, headers, a flex fan and new exaust, not totaly sure about that though, but the body is starting to go to **** so i'm gonna try to pick it up for cheap, but anywayz mod y's i duno i was thinking about going for the edelbrock cat-back system i like the sound of it and i've read good reviews about it, i'm getting some 3/4 length headers from a friend of mine for like $100, i wanna buy an H- or X-pipe, i have an edelbrock Torker intake and a holley 600 cfm carb, let me know what you all think of this setup? oh and if i missed anything let me know!

thanx lots

I would agree that he should buy the little things first. i kinda did the same thing got heads, cam and **** but didnt have enough $$$ at the time to get a new intake and my car chockes at about 4600 due to the intake. get the little **** first them go big.
