so gt-40 p's have the smog port? On the e7 they have them at either end, one end the smog tube thingy goes on and the other a really expensive plug (cost me 24 bucks for one at ford dealship) thats threaded inside and out goes in to mount accesories in and block other end end of egr system.

I owuld be inclined to think the gt40p's also do not have these holes. they, like mine, come out of the explorer, which do not share the same emissions system as the mustang

Hey not to thread jack, but why are the emissions systems different between the explorer and mustang and would it be easier to change to the explorer kind. ( performance, and/or just clutter reduction) Thanks and again sorry to jack.

Different motor... still same block and such, but made for two different things. Same idea as H.O. and Non-H.O. motors, they all make different amounts of emisions, so they need different equipment.

Out of curiosity... Why port and polish a set of GT40's? Why not just get a set of AFR 165's or 185's for a few hundred more...? Good port and polish job would be roughly 500 for the set then the heads would be another 500 even if they're used, I wouldn't put used valves and springs in my car personally, and i doubt others would either, then machining the head down.. blah blah blah... AFR's are only $1300 roughly, drop probably 40lbs off the front of the car aswell. Honestly just curious why you stuck with the GT40 route vs. going aftermarket?

Cause I bought them for $300 from some guy who really needed the money. I almost felt bad.

Ported and Polised, 2.02/1.60 valves.
