Any regrets??

RE: Any regrets??
I wish I would have bought an MSD Boost Timing Master instead of a regular 6a. I can still do the BTM add on, but I'd like the limiter on there. At the time I didn't think I would need it since the computer limits it to 6250. But I'd like to drop it down when I go Turbo.

RE: Any regrets??
Spending money with Art Carr, buying an 8.2" deck Dart block, buying Kooks headers, buying a supercharger because I didn't want to wait for a turbo kit to be built, buying a non-SFI balancer, too small of a return on my fuel system, not going through the firewall on my cage, paying extra for swingout door bars, buying a 3.25" stroke crank
The biggest waste of money by far was buying an Art Carr AOD and Kooks headers. Neither one was worth their weight in scrap metal.

RE: Any regrets??
Not really bad experiences in either case...just always wanting more...
I regret:
Going DSS instead of Dart
Going 331 instead of 408.
I seem to always want a little more.
Too much power is (conceptually) just about right.
If I had to pick one thing overall however, it would be...
Not extracting every ounce of potential from the stock engine and trans first. Ford put together a nice little package in the mustang. With a little suspension/traction help a stock 302 5sp mustang is a hard car to beat (not impossible mind you).
If I were to do it all over again, I would start with suspension/traction. Tires, gears, LCA. frame connectors, etc.
It's nice to say "I have 500 gazillion hp", but its more impressive to see a properly tuned suspension when the rearend squats and the tires dig, the front tires pull ever so slightly till they are almost off the ground AND THE ENTIRE CAR JUST LEAPS off the starting line with the front end reaching for the finish line.
Man, that's just sweetness.
Yeah, suspension/traction, its kinda like that.

RE: Any regrets??
Well i have a 95 gt and I talked myself out of buying 1.7 rockers for $250 It just wasn't worth the aggervasion of installing them for alittle more lift and horsepower plus the fact they are slim picking for the right valve covers that will clear the rocker and go under the manifold. The only thing I could think of is too take out the baffles or double up the valve cover gasket and hoped it cleared. Too much work and money...the h@ll with that!!

RE: Any regrets??
Yeah, not selling it for 9k when I had the chance, and trading up for an 03 cobra. But other than that just letting a franchise tranny shop do the rebuild on my tranny. Next time I'll go to a well known specialty shop.
