High idle speed 2000 to 4000 rpm on a 1987 speed density system. Replaced under warranty at 7600 miles.

I replaced mine and it seemed to help out my idle a little bit. Give it a shot.

FYI- if you get a new TPS, compare the ring on the bottom of the sensor that fits into the top of the T/B... I've seen thick and thin rings... You'll break the sensor if it's not the right one...

Would a TPS off of a 4cyl be the same as an 8cyl?

Most likely, but I am not sure.

If the same part number comes up for a 4cyl and a v8 at schucks.com then they should be the same.
