B you are a moron bro. GTs are pretty much exactly the same speed as a LX +or-.1 sec It makes Virtually no difference in the 1/4 mile. I dont know how you beat a gt with a 170hp 200ft lb alero, but thats not typical. Either it was a crappy car or the driver was garbage, but you cant say ALL GTs are slow cause you saw 1, thats just a silly comment to make.[:-]

ORIGINAL: B

I just knoe my friend beat one in his maxima ... and i beat the maxima in my alero// my alero is rated at 170hp 200lbs of torque....( the maxima is a 99 ) so i dont think there that fast.....
The only Maxima that is fast are the 03+, they have the 255hp motors and run the 1/4 in the high 14 second range. And sorry, but your Alero is a mid to high 15 second car. I used to own an Alero, not the v6 like you, but the Ecotec 4 cylinder and I hung out with other Alero guys and was actually on www.aleromod.com for about 2 years, so I know your b.s. about that. The fastest N/A v6 Alero was a guy who had headwork done, all bolt ons possible for the Alero and he ran a 14.6 I believe, which he would be able to beat 96-98 GT's, but not your bone stock Alero. Just so you know, in my 4 cylinder Alero with header, header back exhaust and intake, I beat a v6 Alero from 0 to 75 by about 2 cars, and any v8 Mustang would put a whoopin on me.

Not trying to start an arguement over here in the 5.0 section. But stock for stock, the 99-04GT's would put a whoopin on a 5.0. Now the 96-98GTs and the 5.0 would be a good race. Avg times for 5.0 fox bodies were what, 14.7-14.9, and about the same for 96-98GT's, but I think the 5.0 fox bodies were faster and the 99-04GT's were avg about 14.1-14.3 stock.

07-GT500 > 03/04-Cobra > 03/04-Mach1 > 99/01-Cobra > 96/98-Cobra > 05/06-GT >
99/04-GT > 87/93-5.0 > 96/98-GT > 05/06-v6 > 94/95-GT > 99/04-v6 > 94/98-v6

i used to own a 98gt mild mods, and my dads 89lx with mild mods worked my butt everytime...(mild= ecxaust/cai)

now when i bought my 88gt s/d with full exhaust...i raced a 2000gt auto(mind you they had 4 people in there's)

i worked it after 3rd gear twice...so i'll leave it to say this..it's not what you drive it's how you drive it.
