RE: has anyone rebuilt a t5?
I did mine myself. I will have to look up on my papers for a good link that I found that went step by step. It covered almost everything, but I had to improvise a little. Over all it was kind of fun and a little challenging, but it can be done. I have got 5K on the tranny now with no problems

Droping and reistalling took about 2 hours (unbolted it from the bellhousing) and the tear down and rebuild took about 6 hours, but I took my time. I can't find that link where I got the step by step on the tear down....I just googled T5 tear down or something like that and found it that way when I did mine.
