Default rebuilding a 5.0 engine

Hi i am new to mustang forums. im 16 and i own a 1990 7-up edition mustang lx 5.0. i've swapped the axles for 5 lugs, added subframe connectors, 17 inch polished cobra r wheels, and kyb shocks and struts. i am looking to rebuild the engine so that i can replace the transmission while being able to add performance parts without stressing the engine. How much would a basic rebuild on the engine cost?

Default RE: rebuilding a 5.0 engine

Welcome to the forum. I believe you can get a decent rebuild for under 2 grand--possibly more like $1500. Having said that, I once went to Superior Automotive in Orange County, and they quoted me like 9 grand for a rebuild. I don't think they wanted my business. Maybe it's because I brought 14 of my closest black friends with me. Just kidding.
