Default electric fan wiring help

has anybody else went from a clutch fan to an electric fan, and not used the toggle switch to manually control it?

I had mine run off a thermastic switch with a relay but kept having problems with it not coming on so I switched to a toggle switch.

I use the Chevy S-10 proform electric fan which came with a thermostat control. Ended up using the kit tools to hard wire the fan into the ignition system so when I turn the key but right before I start the car the fan kicks on and stays on. I know I know, GM part on a Ford but considering the S-10 version had better brakets and the fans are exactly the same between the Ford an GM, I opted for durability.
