G force tranny questions

RE: G force tranny questions
I like the G Force kit myself, I already had an after market shifter and bellhousing so with the Tremec you would have to buy new ones. Installation was easy, the gears go right into place of the originals. If 550 horsepower is in the making then I would put that output shaft in, I don't want to go much faster than I am now to avoid a roll bar in my car, so I didn't need it. If you have never taken a T5 apart it isn't that hard to do, Hanalon Motorsports sells a great video that shows you how to rebuild your gearbox. If it's something that you don't want to take on then send it to Hanalon or Astro Performance they will do it for you. Your throw out bearing is associated with your clutch, which by the way you have to have a different one, the G Force kit is fine spline 26, the stocker is 10. I like ebay it's great way to sell things. In your case I would try to sell that T5 locally, if you can't then try ebay. Unless you are using the other T5 selling money to buy G Force parts I would hang on to it, you never know when you might need it.

RE: G force tranny questions
The gears are WAY beefier than stock on the G-force upgrade, you can see from the pictures they show you. When I was checking out my gear kit when I got it, the person who was going to build it for me happend to have some gears from the infamous M22 "rockcrusher". The gears in a G-Force are beefier and straighter cut than one of those...
You are going to need a clutch setup. I personally didn't buy a 5th gear, I just left the stock one. Cruising on the freeway is like butter, like 2 grand on 3.55's and I'm doing at least 80. As for that mainshaft upgrade, I didn't get that either, but I wish I would have. I would have gotten the $349 one or whatever it is. Your question for sliders and all that stuff, I agree with the person who said inspect what you have first and replace as necessary, but you really should buya master bearing/rebuild kit.
Also a little tip for you, when you take out the tranny and old clutch, take you input shaft and use it as a clutch alignment tooland install the new clutch right away. There isn't an alignment tool, and I was told by Tony at Astro to tape up the end or oneto the correct thickness or whatever, and that seemed real cheesy to me... So if you use your input shaft you can side step that whole problem. Then you can go ahead and tackle rebuilding the trans. I paid a family friend to do it for me, and I watched him tear down the old tranny on the bench and theres a lot of little pieces, it really didn't look like alot of fun to me.

Yeah the G force is pretty whiny though almost like a supercharger... I got them in mine from http://www.txmotorsports.com/?pg=8&pm=12&pc=24id check it out since its cheaper and no core charge!! I know a guy with 500hp on it no problems!
