Did mine for roughly $200.. Includes bigger calipers as they were only $15 a piece

Here ya go:
two driver axels out a 83-92 ranger, drums for it too

and

Pair of rotors for a late 80's mark VII

Go to a wrecker, get the axels, then buy new brake parts. And with the money you saved, pick up a set of late 80's lincoln calipers, they're 73mm, replace your stock 60mm ones. Cost me $30 for the calipers (cheap as a mofu) and roughly $125 for everything else involved in the conversion + $30 for wheel spacers & $50 for lugs because I put bullits on it.

Came out nicely for a $125 deal i must say...

And here's the final result:

nice job liquid, in my opinion the 5 lug is 90% for looks and wheel choice, if you really want a wheel that only comes in 5 lug then go ahead and switch over, dont get em wrong i like the converion but i don't think its needed in all cases. however there are several threads and i beleive a sticky on the conversion. good luck

i think you can use like 87 ranger ft rotors and keep the same calbiers, for rear like stated above ranger dr. axle and and brake drums... i do have btw a driver side axle and both rear drums drums in perfect cond. has for brakes you can keep the rear ones you got . pm me if you want the parts cheap. you will just need a extra ranger dr. axle

cheap and good? This is your brake system we are talking about...
If you are going to 5 lug, is it due to wheel choice? If so, the wheels will decide on the conversion. (for FORD Wheels atleast)

Personally I wouldn't convert to 5-lug unless I was going disc all around. Just my thoughts on it...

if you just do rotors you will need spacers to clear most wheels

Thank you, mine was purely for looks, you'll never snap 4 lugs, let alone 5, I just had a set of Bullit rims and thought "I have an 87 Mustang too... hmmmm..." and on they went. And I'm quite happy with the result. All bolted right on aswell, except the front rotors, had to pop out the studs and install longer ones because of the 1/2' of wheel spacing on each side due to the hub on the Mark VII's rotors.

Yes you can have both cheap and good. Hell, for roughly $200 I got all new brakes all around, brand spankin new calipers off a Mark VII (which have probably 1/3 more volume than the stock 56mm units [Mark VII is 70mm]) so it's going to brake better than it ever has, a set of axles andnow I have 5-bolt rims to go along with the new brakes. Cheap and good if you ask me

Nah, it's only bullits and I think saleens mostly if I'm not mis-taken, almost certainly are other wheels that won't fit, but I think it's really the bullits and saleens only. I had to run spacers on my car (1/2" on both sides) and with that you have to lengthen the studs
