Default It pops out!

Of first gear that is. Not all the time just sometimes from a stop. What in the trans holds it in any given gear? I am going to adjust the stpos and see if that helps, in the event it doesnt, what would be next? Shifts perfetly otherwise.

Adjust your stops otherwise the detents hold it or you may have a bent shift fork.

How would the detents be serviced? If they can be. Do you think a bent shift fork would cause that?

ok, im going of memory, asi have a book on all of this at home(ok 2 books and a t5 rebuild manual lol) but i believe the detents are on the ends of the shifting rods, or linkage, w.e. u call them... there little dents basically in the rod and a little spring loaded ball is pushed into them when there in position. so id assume you may be able to get the little spring/ball, asembally maybe or just individual parts and replace them. but idk... im assuming they make replacements for them, but i dont know for sure

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT MY CAR AND IT DROVE ME NUTS! I thought it was a snychro or something else major.

It popped out 80% of the time from a stop, which made dig racing almost impossible.

It turned out that it was the shifter stops. Adjust those, and it should help. Definately solved my problem.
