Default Idle problem

I havea 87 Gt convertable with different headers, offroad hpipe and a flowmaster exhaust and no catylitic converters. Has smaller underdrive pulleys and the timing is advanced on it. When I come to a light or any other time I am ideling once in a while the engine starts to flutter and then just shut off unless I keep tapping the gas just a little. Is there anyway to correct this with this setup or with the exaust the way it is, is it just being cause by lack of back pressure at idle and I have to deal with it?

any thoughts please help I really don't thing there is anything that I am going to be able to do but if there is please let me know

Thanks.

Disconnect the battery's negative terminal to reset/clear the computer's memory. Leave it disconnected for 30 minutes.

If everything was done properly the EEC-IV (read: computer) should have learned it's new idle.
