It worked fine with the stock heads and intake, but now it just dont seem to have the nuts to keep up with my motor. I have a 180 stat and it still stays around 210 I thought it was my gauge first so i bought a mechanical one, same thing).

Anyone know if the taurus fan or a junkyard fan thats better than this one???

i don't know but i'm having the same problem as you. I've been told that the fan is too small to cool down my motor but others say that it works good.. but let me know if you find out anything

THE INFAMOUS 3.8 !!!

they were known for blowing headgaskets and overheating, so FORD put in a powerfull fan. Not only do you need at least a 130 amp alternator, aka the 3G alternator swap,(95 5.0 alternator and harness connectors), its a simple two wire hookup.

I have one and when it cuts on(ive tested, it BLOWS) and takes a pull on the electrical system.



2. Make sure you have a fan shroud! whats the point of cooling the radiator off, when the air is not hitting the motor? You can make one if you want, two self tapping phillips and a piece of 1/4 plywood or board does just fine.


3. Putting it on your car, just get a kit for installing aftermarket coolers onto radiators, they are like $4 at auto zone, or ebay.

Which black majik fan do you have? I have the extreme version and its real nice, works real good. I would suggest maybe lowering the temperature that it comes on at, that could help.
