Default Killed a Vette'

Yep, my broken underpowered POS mis-matched motor annhialated a LT1 (later model LT1 by the look of the rims and int NICE shape, unsure of A4 or M6, but I belive A4 based on how it looked when he was toying about before the race).

Run was from about 70 (sorry, I am a highway driver) to about 110-115. I used a bit of OD in this one. From 70 to about 105 (4th gear) I put about 3-4 cars on him (enough where I passed him COMFORTABLY and without being a jackass). I put it in 5th and I kept the lead it looked, although he may have been creeping up on me. I am unsure, but at 110 he still fit VERY nicely in my rear view mirror(windshield). I put her in N and tapped the brakes (out of gear and out of nuts for that area, lol) a couple seconds later he flew by and hit the brakes too. I do belive I did jump him by 1 fender or so. The reason is EVERY TIME I tried lining up, he would gun it when I was 1 car back or so. Pissed me off So when I got next to him I threw it into 4th and walked a fender easy, after that, the going got slower. So I feel it fair to say I jumped maybe 1/2 car AT THE MOST!

I guess the whole weight advantage card doesnt work in this scenario...

I am beginning to think the dyno COULD have been off?

I guess this just doesn't fit with my motor being a piece of **** like you all told me it was.

Okay...maybe there is another reason I get no posts about this one?

Have you ever seen what a mustang looks like when it wrecks at 110 mph? They come apart bro, unless you have a death wish I would slow it down. Not trying to be a ***** but I had a friend of mine that died 11 years ago in a car wreck. I am sure your parents love you as much as Daves parents loved him and I hate to see any parent have to go through something like that if it can be prevented.

I'll bet that your stang is putting down more than 244 hp. Maybe something could've been wrong with the dyno. that vette should've annhilated (sp) you.

It was a dynojet dyno, but we made 4 pulls within 10whp of each other. I am NOT arguing that it couldn't be wrong, but I just dont know how. Yeah, we are similar in weight, if anything the vette was lighter (compensated by his passenger though) and he shoulda had way more than 244whp, so yeah, I shoulda been pummeled, NOT vice versa. I am beginning to think the dyno WAS off.

As to 110 mph and the car owning itself, I ran on an area where I was familliar with the road surface (not hidden dips or rises that would mess me up at that speed). But I definitely take your point that 110 was retarded in my 5.0. We all do stupid stuff, this was mine for the day. Not excusing it. Normally I stop at 95-100, but it was a VETTE!!! I know...weak, but still, 85 would kill me just as dead as 110+ in that car. Ok, im done justifying my stupidity.

Plus the vette is WAY WAY WAY more aerodynamic.

Well he did KINDA start creeping back from his 3+ car lag when I put it in OD at 105, but by 110+ he was still back there a ways.
