^there, if you gain 15 whp on an F150 (lower rpm motor than mine, so I should gain MORE!? nah..I wont go that far). with electric vs. flex. So, 15whp from his electric and lets just say 10 from his shortbelt and lesser gears/75# lighter tranny (the cases are both aluminum, the TKO has STUPID thick/heavy gears). hrmm....that means we are making the same hp at the flywheel (assuming I had an electric fan). I think you guys are wrong and just cant bring yourselfs to admit it. Hell. I have already admitted my cam is not the best, but it DOES do DAMN GOOD imho. (I feel it did swindle me out of some tq though, hp I dont think it hurt much).

I also plan on makin around 270-280 RWHP with P heads. I'm goin with a trickflow cam. This subject has gotten way outa wack.
So for the cam....I heard tons of great things about the trickflow stage 1 for a mild motor. And its pretty cheap too

I also see alot of guys using alphabet cams on a stock motor. Alot say they are out dated, but there are some people making really good HP with those cams. Just gotta find the right cam for your application. I personally think it woud be a wast to do a cam without heads. Unless your planning on doing the heads really soon. Might just wanna save up and do both at the same time. Your HP gains will be much larger, and throw a good budget intake on it, if your worried about cash. I know i am. Thats why i did a budget build.
Hope i could help

If you plan on 280whp with those heads you will need FULL!!! bolt-ons (electric fan, pullys, windage tray would be a plus, RR's, LT's). Had I gone with LT's, electric fan, added a windage trany and kept my stock light-weight drive-train I would be knocking on the 280whp mark. You can do it with P heads, I have seen it done, it just takes a lot!!! more support mods than AFR's/ TFS's. I told him to buy an alphabed cam b/c its cheap and he wont need it for long. Kinda disposable imho.

oh, yes, buy an intake too. But get one that will work at the rpms you want to use the other setup at, EFI intakes are NOT cheap.

And they get that way from stoopid good traction, stall'ed autos, and a HELLUVA lot more mods than I have (and better mods, LT's vs. shorties for example). You are wrong, ask anyone who dynos cars, they dont figure drivetrain loss in and compensate for it, WTF?! If they did 3rd and 4th gear pulls would not show the 5-10whp difference that they do.

"Hey genius, look at what I advised and think about it, also think about the fact that I made just as much hp as a FRPP SVO crate with aluminum heads. Go find the post genius, he made 270whp with an electric fan (I have flex) and he has a shortbelt (I didnt) and he had a T5 with 3.55's . If I had the black magic electric fan and the shortbelt and a lighter tranny/less gear I would easily have hit the same 270 whp. You need to look at things again there man. "
T

hat car must of not bin tuned or something is up!! my car is making 289 whp un tuned When I get it tuned I should easily gain any where frome 20-40 Hp. so aluminum heads will all ways be better then heavy P heads. Yea they are better than stock 5.0 heads!!
