I would check them ALL out. You can have two cylinders right next to each other. One will look great, the other has a whole story to tell.

change your oil and pay very close attention to the first bit to come out, sometimes you can have coolant sitting in the bottom of your oil pan, and it might not mix in with the oil. however, if your not overfull, and it doesnt look like chocolate milk, id say your leaking into one of your cylinders.... OR, you could have a running leak.

A running leak is exactly what it sounds like. the coolant only leaks when the car is running. i.e. water pump shaft seal

So would that mean he needs new head gaskets? Would there be any type of burning smell with that?

headgaskets are a good possibility but he says his oil is missing too...

i think you should drain the oil and look at it carefuly.

dont judge by the overflow.. let the car cool down and open the radiator cap. if its not full turn the car on and let it warm up and keep adding coolant till it reaches the proper level (full hot line on the overflow bottle)

Look around your water pump and timing cover for coolant leaks. The water pump has a weep hole in it under neath it behind the pulley. When the seals go bad your coolant will leak out of the weep hole (visible from underneath). If you are burning coolant the cylinder thats burming it will have a very clean spark plug.

Are you having problems with your windows fogging up? Your heater core could be leaking.

You may have just burnt the oil.
