Default X pipe or H pipe

Hey, quick question, I have a MAC H Pipe on her right now, but my friend who is supposed to be this mustang guru said that an X Pipe would be better and give me the Mustang sound. What do you guys think?

I would just keep your H-pipe, only reason I would consider buying a new one is if you needed cats. Sound is all on preference, go for what you like, not someone else. And you aren't going to notice any kind of power difference between the 2.

On another note, I have a BBK X-pipe (catless) w/ flowmasters and it sounds awesome, I love it. But yea, I would save the $150-$200 and spend it one something else that needs fixing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

h-pipe is louder than an x-pipe and gives a more deeper tone but loses its flow past 3000 rpm

an x-pipe is more functional and flows good up to the redline but sound will be decreased

the best mid pipe that offers the best of both worlds is the mac prochamber. its loud like an h-pipe and flows better than an x-pipe

h has deeper tone,x has raspy tone, flow differences are minimal, i'd take an h over an x unless i had to have cats... jmo

I prefer the sound of the X...There isn't really a huge difference between flow...maybe a couple hp. I have a catted x-pipe with flowmasters and dumps and I love the sound.

I have the BBK off raod H pipes with flowmaster 40's and stainless pipes out the back. Has a deep loud tone. My wife says that she can here it coming down the road 4 miles out. My four dogs start howling about that time to knowing it is me coming home.

The x pipe gives you alittle bit more horsepower. But if you have flowmaster mufflers already on you car stick with the mac h pipe it's made for that muffler. The x pipe with flowmasters sounds like crap..Good luck
