Come on now, it takes a little more to be a firefighter. It talks real ***** to be a firefighter. I was a tick as an EMT and I grew up in a family of firefighters. Medics and firefighters are awesome people.

^^^ I what was said above, the rebuild kits from summit are pretty good for a stock type rebuild. You don't need to go with a crate motor. They can get real expensive.

It sounds to me the motor isnt your problem. It seems like if there was a problem with the motor then you would hear a knocking, or the engine would not run right when it is running. Sounds like maybe an electrical problem. I would go through all the other(cheaper) possibilites before you invest in a new motor. JMO

yes, its always good to solve any problems before taking it out, because you may get the motor back in and have the same problem. have you tried running codes?

Anyways if you give up on the motor I will take it for some bills. Let me know my friend KillaE needs a motor and I am assure that your not in need of one. His car use to die but he replaced the IAC/Ignition Module/Stator and it did fix it.
