Default Backspacing question

I just bout a 93 GT (it's being shipped to me now) and I already have been looking at wheels. I want to put a 17x10 wheel on the rear with 6.21" of backspacing. Will it fit? I plan to upgrade my brakes with the Ford Racing cobra 5 lug kit M-2300K if it makes any differance.

Thanks
Ryan M.

It will take MUCH work to fit a 10" rim. What size tire are you planning?

I was wanting to put a 295-35 or at least a 285 -35 tire. The Ford racing kit seems to be the cheapest way to go for really good brakes(Bear, Brembo, SSBC). It is a complete kit with nothing extra to buy or worry about. Is there a comparable kit out there that is cheaper?

There was an article in the lates mmff about using s197 wheels on foxes that have done the 2300k w/5 lug conversion, it says they fit better as far as the fender wells, dont know if it'll help you but its worth taking a look at.
