The flames are painted, they are not thick though almost like misted on so you can still see the red in it. In the sun the red paint sparkles, threw some flake in it, but in the overcast or dark it looks solid red. I know some would not like the flames but I wanted something a little different and personal(too many of the same thing around here).

Thanks for the comments on serving, I and my soldiers appreciate it alot.
