Now if I am correct the 351C turned into the 351+400M which shared a bellhousing with 460's which may have started the BB myth.. As stated it is not a BB.

351W is a super easy swap in a 302 mustang. Parts for it are everywhere and easy to find. THat is the swap I would make!

The 351C however is a design that can potentially make more power. I believe nascar uses the 351C design. Also if you want to see the 351 C at work search the net for Pantera automobiles!

WOW!! So many engine experts on here its amazing. Why do I even to think and learn.

Look man

hellas85stang and Matt are the ones that know. Cleveland has much more power potenial when compared to a windsor of same cubic inches. Cleveland costs more to build but they sound freakin nutz and run like a bat out of hell. You can easily buy a lakewood scattershield and make your stock tranny work with a custom brass pilot bearing BUT a T5 WILL NOT HOLD THE POWER A CLEVELAND IS GONNA MAKE!! Cleveland heads are so much better then windsor style heads, 1. Valves are freaking HUGE which means you need CI or HIGH RPM OR Forced induction(not nitrous) to get the full effect of the head. 2. Valves are canted at an angle making them flow even better. Clevelands didnt flow coolant though the intake either. There is an austrailian company that make all kinds of stuff for the cleveland and Edelbrock makes aluminum cleveland head that will bolt to the windsor block. All front accessories can be bought for the windsor block, PS pump Water Pump Alternator ETC ETC and still have the advantage of the Clev head with the advantage of aluminum weight. BLAH BLAH BLAH!!

Just need to have some $$$ BUT I promise you the Clev headed windsor block is the way to go.

I know I pisses some people off telling them they are wrong so im gonna close the door to my bombshelter now!

Someone should really write up a sticky on this one to clear up alot of the rumors. I lack all of the knowledge but would love to see some of the facts set straight. I have heard by many people that clevelands are beaters, that is why they dont make them anymore. I have also heard some things along the line of windsor for low end, cleveland for top end. Either way i believe a windsor is a better choice to drop into a stang

the only probalem the cleve has is it gives its oil to the cam bearing first then the mains but a set of restrictors will straighten that out quickly i had a very mild 351c that pulled the front tires with my 72 fastback it will completely oblerate a t5 in short order. the main reson the cleve was made was to stop chevys 350s in there tracks and it did that well a 2v headed 9:1 compression cleve with a decent cam, some headers, intake and carb is gonna put out 400 plus hp. the 1971 boss 351(clevelnad) was the fastest mustang till the 2000 cobra r

Anyone remember the BOSS 302,with the cleveland heads. And yeah, the only classic mustang motor close to the BOSS 351 was the 428 CJ.
