Default 93 Octane vs. 110 VP Race Gas

Rigth now ive been running 10 gallons of 93 + 1 bottle of NOS Race Octane Booster thru a 306 H/C/I with 11.5.1 Compression and an NOS 150 Dry Shot. It seems to work pretty good and there is no pinging even when I am spraying it.

Is there any real power increase goign from what gas combonation I'm using now to half 93 and half 110 Vp race fuel ?

NO, higher octane fuel is a waste of money unless you have either a really high compression motor or alot of boost.

Its not going to make a differenece other then melt ur plugs

I guess you didnt read the part where he said that he has 11.5:1 compression. On HIS car it WILL make a difference, a very noticable one at that. Im @ 11:1 and I notice a HUGE difference between 110 octane and 94. And no it wont melt your plugs, obviously you havent the foggiest idea of what octane is and how it works, please dont give advice. Thanx.

o lol, sorry didnt mean to jump in your ****, I just see a lot of octane threads. Most peoples conception of octane is backwards, they think if its higher then it burns easier and more forcefully. In actuality its MORE difficult to burn.

I mean running half 93 and half 110 VP. Not staight 110 in case you misunderstood me.

What kind of a power increase are we looking at here?
I Dont want to go out and spend $7.00 a gallon on something thats not worth it.

You might not see much of a gain in HP but it will be A LOT safer. I would spray a 150 shot on top of 11.5 compression on anything less than 105 octane. With the better gas you will be able to be more aggressive with the tune and maybe lean it out a bit and get a few hp out of it but personally I don't like doing that, there is too much to risk.
