Default Radiator Problem

i have a 92' GT and i drive it for no more than 20-25 min or so and my temp shoots all the way up to 270 on the gauge inside. so i pulled over and radiator fluid was spraying out the sides of the cap for the radiator. i know that isnt suppose to happen but what about the temp? that seems way to damn high to be normal. stock radiator too.

Do you have any type of fan?
And if so
Does it work?
And are you positive?

well I am thinking you need to trouble shoot youre problem, First I would take out the thermostat and take a loo at the rad Cap see it the rubber seal is worn out, Get a new one in. Then take it from their, If it still wants to over heat, let the car idle and watch temp gauge if you dont hear or see youre fan kick on, You may have problem with youre fan or the rely switch or sending unit could be messed, if all those check out fine, It still over heating let youre car cool down, Then take off the rad cap warm up the car to normal temp see if the coolant is moving around at normal temp, The new thermostat should open up, And to test youre water pump, Just take off youre drive belt, then use two hands on the pulley and wobble an up and down motion if their is any play youre water pump needs replacing, If that checks out well, Going back to the rad with the rad cap off at normal temp, If the car is still over heating, My guess would be youre rad is pluged, You could try a cleaner it maybe help, If not the rad needs to be recored or replaced.

Good Luck / I hope the tips work for ya.
