idles anywere from 1500-3000 rpm
My 95 Cobra has been in the garage for a while now due to the wheather and a few other things non car realated. I have gotten it out the last cople of days and I'll start it up and it idles anywhere from 1500-3000 rpms and doesnt come back down. I have read that it could be the IAC or the throttle body needs cleaned. Anyways if it is the IAC and I go out to get a new one will I have to mess with the computer after installing the new one? Any suggestions will help because I'm think of just taking it to a local mechanic.

my problem is that I dont know much about the newer cars with all the emissions crap and computerized stuff. I have only worked on cars from 50's to late 60's models. So when you say pluag and play I dont really know what you mean. I geuss I'm just afraid of screwing something up.

The IAC is a simple plug it in sensor
its very common for idle to screw up with temp
change as your IAC gets old.
last time I checked I think they were like $50
if it doesnt fix it, take it back.
I'm betting it's just sticking open and letting too much air in.
You could try taking it off and spraying some brake clean in there
to remove any gunck or build-up
