Is that relic still running the original motor? Unrebuilt? Be careful, that carbon may be holding your motor together...it may start to melt like a slab of butter, right off the motor mounts.

I guess I should have prefaced. Same block. I just like saying that cuz it gets peoples attention. I rebuilt the motor at 250,000 not because it was running bad, but I had wreched the car at the time and thought it would be a good idea while the motor was out. went 250,000 and the only thing that went south was the water pump at 200,000. I included a pic for yall.

Yeah, I agree with grabbem somewhat. Seafoam will remove carbon from your intake valves but it is not the most effective stuff out there. Go to a FLM delaer and ask for PM3 top engine cleaner. D9AZ-19579-BA. The newer cans are blue and the older cans are red & white. Follow the directions on the can, they pretty much sum it up. The hotter the engine is when you do it and the harder you drive it afterwards, the more effective this stuff is. Its a pain in the **** to do it on a 5.0 because you have to suck it through a vac line. Find one that is most centrally located. Hold the RPM's at about 2500 because you are putting liquid in the intake and we all know how much these intakes like liquid....... You don't want to hydrolock it but trust me. I have used it for years on all my vehicles, foregin and domestic and it is the only thing that really really works. Change your oil afterward too as it may dilute it. Obviously dumping a $5 can from autozone in your gas tank is easier, but are you more concerned with efforts or results?
