It really depends on how far you plan on taking the trans. There are many people running most bolt ons (with the exception of heads) on stock AOD's with VB's (or shiftkits) and nice stalls. If you dont want to spend alot of money I would get a valve body from PA or Lentech and than get a nice stall for it. If you plan on doing major work than get a Lentech or a PA... there are also other reputable companies out there.
