you can get pretty aggresive, you just want to watch the duration(at .050 lift not the advertised) no more than 216 degrees intake and 220 exhaust...about the most agressive you can get for sd wich is the one i run is the comp cams #35-304-8 270ah-r14 specs are duration 215 intake and 224 exhaust and the lift is .533 intake and exhaust..comp cams and crane have a few that will work well..the one i run gives me just a little trouble if im idling for a long time ..but makes great power..i run that with a hypertech chip and the normal headers h-pipe c/a/i and a ported stock intake on my 86 vert and on street tires with 2.73 gears ive gone 14.0's ...im sure with gears faster but i have trouble hooking with the 2.73 gear..sd is not the terrible set up everybody makes it out to be you can get alot of power out of it, but if your leaning towards adding a blower or turbo youll have to convert to mass air as sd cars do not like boost..although nitrous works well with sd.
