If you were absolutly dead set on building a 347 stroker what is the best block, year casting number whatever to start with if your trying to get 500 hp at the wheels?

Best block.....the new Boss 302 other than that you need to go back back back......but 500 normally won't last long on any of the standard ones. I built a VERY strong 331 from a '90 5.0L block but I only raced it for half a season and someone bought it (could't refuse) so I don't know how its longivity was.

Default RE: DEAD SET

Well I am fighting with myself whether to use a heavy duty 302 or find a 351 i know everyone is going to say go with the 351 but is it really going to be that much of a stronger block than a 302. I am also going to drive it on the weekend I am not trying to build an all out dragster I just want about 500 at the wheels
