Default 8.8 Rear

I was doing the 5 lug conversion on the rear today. I went to advanced and had them get me a gasket for my rear end. They just typed it in as 83 mustang 5.0, and they said there was only one rear end for that (im guessing the 7.5) so they grabbed me the gasket. I go to put it in, and its not the right size. I go back and see if they had anything else. I had them look up the rear end gasket on a newer mustang, and it had the 8.8 rear end. I didn't think I had an 8.8, but I figured Id try. Sure enough it works.

So the 8.8 gasket is the right one, and the 7.5 ranger shafts worked...Im so confused

PS. The filler hole it a major pain in the *** to get to...

PS again. This is a long and useless post, but Im really tired and really confused on that rear end

Default RE: 8.8 Rear

you dont even need a gasket, just use a bead of silicone thats all I do, and someone must have done a swap
