on our fox stangs they almost always go for more than blue book unless its in sorry condition. You will NOT find a mustang in the shape you describe for the KBB price. Maybe a junker, but even ones with problems are usually gonna run you at LEAST 2k if its still in somewhat descent shape. Good luck on the car bro!

i dont follow KBB for this car. a friend that is really into mustangs (im very new to the scene) said that there are so many out and that kinda puts a "curve" on the value. KBB on my car was about 4500 in excellent condition & i paid $5000 for mine. i think mine is a great investment. i know i can turn it around and make $6000 for it today. sounds like a clean car. when i was looking for mine, my friend told me to check under the hood where the fender mounts. make sure there are no shims there which would align everything. if there are shims, could indicate an accident that is being "fixed" to make everything straight. he also told me to look at the gap in front of the doors & back of the front fenders....make sure everything is equal all the way down. just check the gaps to make sure they are equal and no part of the door or body is sagging. good luck with it.

About the speed density vers MAF...I have a 87 and it is sweet..I run a 13.7 @ 105mph in the quarter with out heads/cam/intake and little suspention work (notice high trap speed slow ET...) I woundn't worry, S/D isn't that bad...there are still things you can do. I would go for it if it is the look you want and the price you can afford.

They come form the factory, in some cases with shims...don't think everytime you see a shim it has been wrecked.
