Default 302 in my 96 3.8

well i have my 302 set in my car the 96, i put the stock tranny that came in the car on my bell housing the 302 and the motor wouldnt turn with the tranny on, now i know the trannys good cause it worked when the head gasket went out on my 3.8. now it went in a lil hard but i expected that cause it came out kinda hard, so i pulled the tranny and the throw out bearing was good the pilot bearing was good the end of the shaft on the tranny wasnt scared or anything so i am at a loss, anyone have any idears lol

are you sure you used the correct bellhousing? and its not crammed against the crank keeping it from moving?

Does the transmission spin freely when its removed?

This will point you to the area of your problem.

If you used a fox bellhousing it's too short and stuffed your input shaft into your crank waaaaay too far,did you use a 302 flywheel also?
