If you are running a stall converter you should run an external trans cooler. If still running the stock converter than the cooler in the radiator is sufficient.

I personally would prefer to NOT have my transmission fluid running into my radiator... radiator gets hot, your fluid heats up.... I would much rather get an aftermarket cooler and mount it out in front of the radiator in open air to assist in cooling the fluid... wether your on a stock converter or not...

I'll be doing that with my OIL cooler, im gonna run a bigger pan and an upgraded cooler... low fluid temps is a nice thing

With a shift kit I would suggest you get a trans cooler, they are not too expensive, or hard to install. I have one and have not had any problems
