aerostar and ranger axles

RE: aerostar and ranger axles
perhaps a bit off subject......but the previous owner put a 5 lug from a ranger. I have tiny little disks in the front a drums in the back. They are the mustang lug pattern because I have the 2000 5 spoke pony's on it right now. If memory serves correct, the stock mustang rotors (as well as the ranger's ) are part of the front hub/bearing assembly. I am stuck with this style brake. The only thing this type of conversion gives you is wheel options. Otherwise I must redo all four corners to put brakes off a newer mustang right?

How exactly do i take the axles off? I think you take off the diff cover, then there is some sort of clip on the end of the axle that you remove then it should slide out. It's been pretty nice for November in MN so i think ill go to the junkyard before it snows.

RE: aerostar and ranger axles
Drivers Side: Ranger, Bronco II
Passenger Side: Aerostar
Remove Tires
Remove Drums
Remove the diff cover
Remove the pin in between the spider gears (5/16 6 point wrench)
Slide the axle shaft in about 1/2 inch
Pop out the C clip
Pull axle out
Just grab the drums off the ranger, as long as they are 9 inch drums (there is 10 inch on the 6 cyl rangers) and throw those on the stang
