are u running a 13.6 witha 150 shot? or 125? because it thats all your running your car has some serious issues to be addressed first.
My buddy runs a 125 shot, mite only be a 100 shot on his 86 with just mt streets and a stock rear and he is hitting 12.5's so someting aint right. NOw onto the cam, to use the cam and get the full benifits of it, you will need to purchase some form of heads, either cast iron gt40 or aluminum heads, going through all the work of putting a cam into a stock headed stang wil be pointless as there will be no gain. You can buy the cam and hold onto, its notbad cam at all. until you get heads and do it later. Your best bet right now would be to get a set of used 1.7 roller rockers for about 100 bucks and slapping them on with the stock cam.

Like 88 said, a cam wont do much good without better flowing heads. I'd definatly buy that cam and hold on to it tho. Thats a good deal.

This is slightly related but how "rough" is a E303? I had a crane cam before I rebuilt my motor and it was pretty rough. How noticible is the loping of the idle?

Well I kind of have to disagree with you guys to an extent, sure you won't see the full potential of the cam with stock heads but to say he won't see any gains is just silly, even with stock heads you'd probably see about a 15 HP gain over your stock cam, and more if/when you do put some good heads on. As for the idle quality, yes the E-303 is a bit rougher but not terrible, I can get mine to idle at 750 RPM with only a little lump.

I would like to see some dyno sheets where your gettin 15 horspepower from a e303 cam on an untouched engine, stock heads and intake, never happening its a pipe dream, and even if and this is a big if, you were able to get 15 hp, it would not be worht all the work to acheive it.You will get better hp increase from switching to an electric fan and some underive pullies. listen to guys who have done this and know what theryre talking about, putting a cam into a stock headed 302 is a waste of time, unless your only after the lumpy exhaust, which is kinda stupid to do all the work for anyway. get the cam, and hold on to it, its a great deal, just inspect the lobes for any deep knicks or anything that doesnt look ordinary.

ok still though, Do I need to change the cam bearings and what else do i need to do the swap?

I already have a set of 165cc heads,BBK SSI intake upper and lower to go on it.

What can expect in HP with this new set up 165 heads, BBK SSI intake and E303 cam?

cams are not that hard to put in guys, and you get benfits from just a cam swap but i agree on upgrading the heads aswell
