depends on the type of cruising, some people go to cruises out of town and stuff like that. also if its a cruiser you arent worried about speed so an aod is good

That is true. And it depends where you live because *cruising around town* for me is mostly all 45+mph speeds, that can really get to you with a C4.

a Performance Automatic I found is the best deal. They offer a lifetime warenty with their rebuilt aod smart package. Their AOD has a strong shift unlike the stock junk aod. It will run about $2000. But it's a transmission for life!

You can get a Lentech Street Buiser AOD for like $1,800 that has a street/strip valve body, elecrtic od switch, good for 550hp, etc. PA is way overpriced depending on what you are looking for.

AOD'S SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] Hell AUTOMATICS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!![:@][:@][:@] Ive managed to destroy more transmissions than anyone I know, my last C-4 lasted me all of 10 miles before the clutches decided to blow up. Then my AOD, other than the shift points REALLY suck, out of the blue started whinin like mad. It whine is louder than my truck (5.0,AOD), which has magnaflows on it and all of 4 feet of exhaust. I have no luck with transmissions [&o]. End Rant
-P.
PS: To answer your question, C-4's are good trannies, so are AOD's, but what I would do if I were you is get a used AOD and not mess around with the C-4. Like everyone else said it doesnt have overdrive, so its final gear is a 1:1 ratio, itll rev pretty high at anything 60mph+. But its up to you.

Thanks for all the good answers....I've found a bone yard that has a good AOD for $550 and a 90 warranty so I'll think I'll go that route.
