I've said it before and I've said it here. People who tend to like 4.10s with a 5-speed are the same people who tend to have less HP. Like I said, yeah you can get away with it. But if you start adding nitrous, a supercharger, etc then the gears can get real short real fast.
Have you tried 4.10s on a 5-speed with 400+ RWHP? It can be so bad that people start contemplating launching in second gear.

exactly, 410s on a fairly modded car are not fun. first gear goes like that. and most of the time people end up starting out in second for normal street driving

I don't have really big plans for the engine anymore. Next will be a full exhaust, intake and throttle body and probably upgrade little stuff, and also a ECU probably. After that, suspension work straight out.

please, throw h/c/i and maybe some forced induction on your car and tell me how well you like having 410s. if he's going to mod it much more, 410s will be a little much.

im talking about you saying 410s are the greatest gear for any 5 speed. i guess maybe my definition of big plans is alot more than yours, so i was thinking he still may go w/ h/c/i. i would never trade my 373s for 410s, on a modded car 1st gear would just be too fast, and good luck getting traction

W/ your stock T5, I wouldn't go higher than 3.73's. I've got a Z spec which has a 2.95 1st gear, so launches aren't quite so bad. I'm running 3.55's right now, but was contemplating 4.10's....especially if I go w/ the G-force T5 at some point= 2.95 1st gear and .59 5th gear...lower hwy rpms, even w/ 4.10's. Stock 5th on a WC T5 is .68 and first is 3.35.

A few sources. First, he already said that he planned on putting in a 100-shot of nitrous. Second, I know him from reading his posts on here. I also sold him his CAI and UD pulleys. He has been bitten by the power bug and will be adding more stuff in the near future... I'm sure of it. But even if he adds nothnig else, he already said the 100 shot was coming. But I'm absolutely positive more will be added down teh road as he gets more money. That's the only thing stopping him right now! lol
