Default H/C/I...

doing GT40 heads, GT40 manifold and E303 cam. I have heard it makes a "world of a difference" but what am i lookin at here? lightin up 1st and most of 2nd? Also, very important question when doing all of this and upping the fuel and spark, does the computer have to be switched out or updated? can this be done when it go's for dyno tuning? thanks!

are you getting explorer gt-40 heads, or cobra gt-40 heads?

Personally I would take those GT-40's and send them out for porting before droppint them onto your motor. Thumer ( www.thumperoforangepark.com ) will port out your gt-40's and portmatch your lower intake manifold for $695 and you will DEFINITLY get a VERY noticable gain from this.

As far as the heads go themselves. Explorer GT-40 heads have a larger combustion chamber and will decrease your compression ratio, along with decreasing their power output. I would recommend getting them milled down to have a 58-59cc chamber, this will bump your compression ratio to about 9.5:1 AND increase your total power output.

lemme know if you have any other questions

cobra gt40's i would assume. i'm goin with the ones on blueovalindustries, http://blueovalindustries.bluekeyinc...ts.php?pid=566

I would really like to avoid any other mods to the heads and intake manifold. Could i go with the trickflow twisted wedge setup? i'll pay the extra 200 bucks for them. I don't think you are saying that i won't notice anything by doing the H/C/I but i think your saying i will get the most out of the heads by porting them. so correct me if im wrong. im kinda new to these mods and am not exactly sure of what to do here. thanks adder

Oh.... when you said GT-40's i assumed you meant Irons.... not those aluminum things...

get a set of old explorer gt-40's for about $300 and send them to thumper.... youll get better performance, and they will cost less in the long run as well..

Thumper does that too? I just thought Thumper does the head porting and tmoss ports your intake to match.

Gears on a nearly stock motor will roast 1st and most of 2nd. After your H/C/I with gears, 3rd should be pretty hairy...
