Hey guys i had these guy do my heads for me but screwed em up now ive never built a mustang before like i said im pretty new i sue to build ricers anywayz i know i have't to TDC before the dizzy comes off to get the lower mani off now how do i TDC the cylinder its nothing like a jap pos lol need help or send me a link for a site for step by step ect..Cuz ive noticed when alot people here talkin about replacing heads whatever there car wont start an i bet u it because of this reason.Its a 89 gt heads need to come off cuz i got some new babies lol

Look on the balancer and turn it to TDC, then pull the cap and see if it points to the #1 plug wire(#1 cilinder is passenger front, #5 is drivers front.) If not, rotate it around one more time. Them mark the base of the dizzy, then mark the block next to the dizzy. Also, before you loosen the dizzy, mark the rotor and the body of the dizzy so you can line it all back up. Try to not turn the engine with the dizzy out so you can put it all back together without any trouble.

Get a chiltons or Hayens repair manual for your car. Good friends that know what they are doing also help. Put your thumb over #1 cylinder spark plug hole. Have someone click the starter (w/coil disconnected) until your thumb gets pushed away from the compression stroke. Now you are at if not very close to TDC.

Go on allfordmustangs.com and look in the tech article/engine/h/c/i install and it gives a rundown of installing heads.

allright ill check it out the haynes box sucks it thinks everyone has done it an it doesnt explain it like u guys thats why im on this site cuz of u guys

Best way of figuring it out is just doing it and using common sense and the TDC marks on the balancer
